So now...we wait?

The crib is up, complete with butterfly bedding. The walls have received a fresh coat (koi pond green) of paint. The pre-natal classes are done--we passed!!! A recliner sits in the corner, ready to be used. Diapers and clothes await a little body to cling to. All that's missing? A sweet little girl for Mommy and Daddy to hold and love!

It's kind of like the week before Christmas when you're a kid. The presents are there--right there in front of your eyes! And yet, you're told to wait for just a little longer. You can feel the present in your hands! All that separates you from the gift is a thin layer of wrapping paper. Sigh. And so the anticipation builds...

So here we sit on the coach, watching our gift inside Mommy's tummy. And waiting. All that separates us from her is a thin layer of skin. What exactly is inside there? How big is it? And why does she enjoy kicking and punching Mommy?

Soon, we'll get to hold her. And rock her in the chair. And watch her wake up in a crib on butterfly bedding. And wrap her little limbs in diapers and clothing. But...all we can do now is pray. And wait for Christmas morning.
