The Force

We got to spend some time a couple weeks ago with our good friends, the DeJongs. We were already friends before our wives got pregnant, but it has been fun going through this experience at the same time--their son Roan was born a week after Cayla. And yes, David and I even braved the breathing exercises together during pre-natal class. And by "braving," I mean looking at each other and  trying not to laugh while our wives did the whole "he-he-he-hoo" routine with all their hearts.
So we finally found a night to get together, and it was a blast watching Roan and Cayla "play" together. Right now, playing together consists of grabbing hands and some synchronized drooling, but even that was still fun to watch.
On the home front, we think Cayla has been sneaking into the living room for some late-night reruns of old Star Wars movies.  She has taken to putting out one hand in front of her, as if attempting to use the "Force" like a young Jedi. (Leah thinks I'm a nerd for liking Star Wars.) Almost daily, we'll see her suddenly put out the hand and concentrate. Is she trying to move something? Get us to give her candy? We don't know. At this point, we wouldn't be too surprised if one day her bottle ends up in her mouth without anything to hold it there.
So here's a picture of Cayla and Roan that captures them playing as well as Cayla attempting to use the Force. What is she saying? Here's what Leah thinks: "Daddy, you will take a picture now."
If you are willing, caption this picture in the comment section.

That is hilarious!

Star Wars (the original 3) are NOT to be reckoned with, Leah!

If I think of a good caption, I'll be sure to submit it!

Ah, thanks for the laughs!

I don't have any great ideas (I think you got the creativity in the family), but Gabe just loved the picture! He was cracking up. I miss that precious little girl and can't wait to see her soon. Love you all!
