cruisin' and open-mouthed kisses

Got your attention, didn't I?

If any of you were thinking this post was about our first date (none of you were), I have to disappoint you. It's just an update on Cayla Joy and a couple of new things.

Cruisin'--We have found her many times standing up in her crib in the morning. Apparently, she wakes up and wants a better view to get her going. She'll pull herself up and just kind of hang out there talking to herself until we get her. She is able to pull herself up on our couches, too. Especially when we strategically place food there! We've been moving the food down the couch to encourage her to move her feet. We've had mixed success but she has taken a few steps. It's pretty exciting, although walking is still probably a ways off.

Kisses--We have been very affectionate with Cayla. It's pretty much impossible not to. When we come home we just want to hug and kiss her. As she's gotten older, Cayla has realized that she kinda likes that. In fact, she will often pat our shoulder and reach up for hugs. We've also been trying to get her to kiss us back. It's working! We'll say, "Cayla, give Momma a kiss," and when she is in the mood, she'll look up sweetly, open wide, and lean in. Sometimes she even sticks her tongue out. Yeah, so we're trying to get her to pucker up more, but it's really cute. Especially if she claps and smiles afterward!
