september update #2

Cayla doesn't always love it when we try to brush her hair after a bath. But she sure loves brushing her own hair. And, well, anything really. Ya gotta love the girl because she even brushes mine. Lord knows I don't have the heart to tell her it doesn't really need it. So I just say thank you and smile.

Cayla loves playing with any type of doll, which we name "Baby" no matter what it looks like. She cracks up when we treat Baby like her. The first time I put Baby on my shoulders to give her a ride Cayla laughed so hard. She also likes doing "Ring Around the Rosie" with Baby. Although sometimes she'll throw Baby when she's done with her so we may have to work on that if there is ever another little Garland. She also loves putting Baby into her cradle and taking her out again.

Cayla is loving making animal sounds lately. She does a great click-clock for a horse, a pretty good "moo" for the cow, and tries a funny nose for a pig. She puts her hand up to make a trunk for the elephant and makes a sound that is in the ballpark. Dog and cat noises are coming along but not ready for performance yet. Oh yeah, and she has a scary lion noise that she likes to surprise people with. I have to admit that it sounds very close to her fake burp sound, though. We'll probably claim the lion in public.

We think 7 steps is her new record for walking. She had a really nice walk tonight and was so excited for herself. And she goes "on the potty" about once every other day or so, usually right before her bath.

It's hard to believe she will be turning two soon!! Wow!

Leah - she's SO smart! Not even two and already going on the potty?!?! Amazing! I'll be enlisting in your expertise when it's time to potty train Josie.

I was working on lesson plans that needed pictures when I came across this picture of your beautiful little girl!!!
I teach Middle school students with MR and love it! This is my 24th year! I wouldn't change. Everyday is an adventure and often full of smiles!
Enjoy your sweet precious gift of God. And don't ever hinder her from doing all that she can do in life. My students often exceed what anyone would think they can do.
