big girl bed

We know, we know, you're probably falling off of your chair right now, as we have not posted in sooo long, but yes, it really is us once again:) Life has been absolutely crazy busy for us, but we are now about 9 nine weeks away from being a family of four, and Jerod's first year of teaching at the high school will soon be complete! We are all looking forward to May, but with many things to get done before then... One of which just got crossed off the list, as Cayla is now in her big girl bed!!! Yesterday was just a girls' day with Daddy gone, so we spent about 45 minutes reading, singing, praying, etc. before Cayla was finally asleep for the first time in her bed... Doesn't she look so small in this big bed?!?!?!?

Although this was not an easy task, it all paid off, as she went down quite easily last night and is now peacefully sleeping away for her nap. She only awoke one time in the middle of the night - she was sitting up at the opposite end of the bed and looking very disoriented - but a little loving from Mama and a move back onto her pillow made for a sleep-filled night for all of us!

Here she is happy as can be this morning in her new room with a good decision to move the extra mattress down to the ground to make for a graceful fall (if/when it happens) - thanks Gramama - and a moved-down rail after she nearly fell out during her first time in it. Oh yes, and her new bedding:) And now just a few more details, such as paint on the walls and decorations, but we are now ready for the crib to be used for baby #2!
