That noise you heard last week was the sound of every bib we own giving a collective scream. Yep, things were about to get A LOT messier for them--we introduced Cayla to cereal. And, well, the first few times did not go so smoothly! Most of it ended up dripping from her face, or on her bib, or possibly on one of our arms. Maybe even on the carpet.
As the spoon came in, Cayla knew it was good. She knew she wanted it. She just wasn't sure what to do with her tongue once she opened her mouth. That meant she pushed a lot of it back out. And any of you that have been around her lately know she is in a stick-out-my-tongue-and-make-spitting-noises-phase at the moment. Yeah, not a good combination for learning how to eat cereal. That's when it ended up somewhere in front of her.
However, there has been much improvement the last few times. Cayla's starting to get the hang of it, and now makes sure her tongue is low to allow the spoon easy access. She even leans in toward the spoon as it's coming and keeps it in her mouth. Well, most of it. As you can see from the picture below, a nice cup of cereal can really take it out of her. She was so full she even reached down and unsnapped her onesie after a meal yesterday.

Sorry, I had to delete my comment because I didn't proofread well...what I meant to say was that I can't wait to see all of this in action for myself, maybe even get a little food spit on me. And I love the pics of her, especially the last one where she is all worn out from the eating:)
Blessings to you all!
yay for cereal! Oh man, I remember Eden having SUCH a hard time figuring out what to do with her tongue! It was hilarious! Then Elly was like, "Where've you been hiding this stuff???" and gobbled it up! Just wait til she sneezes while she's eating...it's one of those awesome parenting moments, right up there with being peed on. :)
LOL - yeah - I got to see one of the cereal moments 2 wks ago ... it was a hoot! :D
